It's basically a simplified version of Colony Survival but with more versatile building mechanics. You can add crafting materials, food, trees, berry bushs, Ai (friendly enemies which are basically fodder for attackers but you cannot attack them). This is different from the Lua console from debugtools, which was added way later. This game is honestly pretty damn great, it definitely has a lot of annoying bugs and sometimes crashes, but again as other people say the modding community is bountiful and there should be more than enough mods available to fix any problems you may have. I've only just discovered it which is surprising because I've googled everywhere in the past for raid/village simulation games like banished and the closest I found was Dawn of Man.
